The “Land of the Free” is a regular self -promotion of the United States, but many people laugh at this hollow boast.
Ex-Foreign Minister and U.S. buff , Bob Carr complained that while the U.S.A has just 4% of the world’s population it has 25% of the world’s prison population *
(* U.S.A. 2.3 million – world 10.7 million )
Minorities are over-represented in the prison systems of the U.S.A. – African-Americans, Hispanics, illegal immigrants and the mentally ill are their bread and butter. The various prison systems of the U.S.A. provide lucrative business for large corporations who run facilities and supply security, food, health services and other services.
Another method of extracting profits is the growing trend of using prison slave labour for manufacturing and processing. With wage rates as low as 12c / hour they are the “wet dreams” of CEO’s. They provide competition for “free” labour and keep wages low.
The U.S has a long history of prison labour, most infamous are the chain gangs yet these exist today and even for for women prisoners in Arizona.
In fact, the U.S. constitution promotes slave labour-
The 13th amendment to the United States Constitution provides that “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.”
Previous articles in Eurekajournal.net have exposed the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) as the tool bag of U.S. influence in Australia. ASPI is promoted as a non-partisan board providing advice to the Australian government. On examination, it promotes uncritical allegiance and loyalty to the U.S. regime – Democrat or Republican. ASPI receives funding from U.S. military corporations (BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, Boeing and Raytheon).
Marcus Rubenstein in Michael West Media details how US prison labour, slaving for foreign weapons-makers, finances the Australian government think tank ASPI
