The U.S. is arguably the largest economy; worldwide its tentacles reach into nearly every country without obstacle except for a few, China, Russia, Iran and North Korea. This is achieved through its dominance of international finance via large financial companies like BlackRock, Vanguard and other massive hedge funds. Also the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, headquartered in Washington and the SWIFT ( which provides the main messaging network through which international payments are initiated) are other coercive levers that support U.S. financial dominance.

But there can be no financial dominance without the means of enforcement. This entails raw military power*. There is no hesitancy for the U.S. military to use its firepower. Over the last decades, Washington has invested trillions in military programs for global domination, such as Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) (designed to enable the US to conduct a conventional strike on any target globally in an hour), in addition to its Carrier Battle Groups, Air Expeditionary Groups, and over 800 military bases spread across the world. these are the means by which drone and missile attacks on Somalia, Yemen, Syria, Iran, Nigeria, in the Caribbean and Venezuela.

With the second Trump administration, an aggressive agenda has emerged much to the horror of many U.S. allies and their representatives. They finally comprehending the famous Kissinger quote “America has no permanent friends or enemies, only interests“. A torrent of tariffs and demands has descended on friends, neighbours and allies of the U.S.

All of this stems from the difficult distorted state of the U.S. economy which has a national debt of $US 3.85 trillion (November 2025) and a trade deficIt of $US 936 billion (November 2025) . The causes of which arise from exporting many industries to cheap labour countries, under investment in infrastructure and STEM. As for the people there is nothing on the plate especially when the federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour raising to $17 in some states. The causes of low wages are miriad- very low levels of trade union membership, harsh anti-worker governments and a flow of desperados- unauthorised immigrants and refugees estimated at 14 million living in 2023 all needing sustenence.

While the workers and the poor of the USA suffer cuts to medicare, social security and food security; the tech sector has made the first trillionaires. Bezos, Zuckerberg and Musk who swarm around the White house seeking deals and favours to maintain a monopoly over data, the new media in the USA and across the world. The other big business USA, the finance industry records record profits in 2025 and expected revenues in 2026 of $1.6 trillion.Together finance, insurance and real estate represents a massive 20% of GDP of the USA.

This circle of trillionaires conspires to atomise the world community into viewers and subscribers while centralising economic power through monetising the many streams of the web. Big bucks follow these entrepreneurs with massive investments in hardware, software and “startups”. The Venn diagram of intersections of wealth, power and influence were revealed in the epic Epstein files. Princes, politicians, government officials, financiers, celebrities and media figures were all trapped in the cosy web of Mossad honeypots serviced by trafficked under-aged girls. The massive volume of photos and documents testimony to extent of this network of power and influence as they supped on paedophilia.

These people seek to dominate the whole world; but there are places still out of reach-Russia, China, North Korea, Iran , Venezuela and Cuba. To make money, capital must find new markets ,it must expand and bend outlier countries to its will. Iran , Venezuela and Cuba have long been in sight of U.S. imperialism’s plans and have been under constant threat with sanctions, blockades and embargoes . In recent times, Iran and Venezuela have suffered military attacks in a bid to bring them more quickly under control. Still, despite sanctions and aggression these three countries have not acqiessed. They are no pushovers despite the imbalance of armed forces.

There are forces inside the U.S. that seek investment and alliance with Russia, both to gain markets and in order to bolster their efforts against China. Hence their reluctance to completely arm the Ukrainians in their war with Russia. Instead with exquisite capitalist chicanery they get the European NATO partners to buy certain U.S . weapons to give to the Ukrainians.

The Europeans are at sixes and sevens over Russia, the U.S. and the war in Ukraine. Their earlier reliance on cheap Russian oil and gas and its replacement with compulsory buying of much more expensive U.S. product coupled with new onerous U.S. tariffs has sent their businesses broke or offshore. All this, the sabotage of the Nordstream gas pipeline by gray zone U.S. forces and later Trump’s aggressive claim on Greenland have made the Europeans concerned for their sovereignty. The servile Atlanticist forces in the EU and NATO are considerable yet butt heads with more independent minded Europeans.

At the same time as the attempted aggressive expansion of US imperialism it faces a rising tide of peoples’ forces from around the world.

The major trend in the world is the struggle for independence, sovereignty, nationhood and development for the benefit of the people. These forces are developing at a rapid pace and the contradiction between US Imperialism and the world’s peoples is becoming increasingly antagonistic.

Each country has to struggle for their own path to independence and freedom. As US aggression intensifies it will inevitably create its own gravediggers. The time is coming where mounting struggle will explode into action in particular countries and overwhelm the US Imperialists, and collectively unite many countries into a mighty stream.
