Well I’m sitting here watching the news and I hear our Prime Minister and Labor Party leader, Albanese talking about our closest friend and ally. He says we have deep and unconditional ties with the USA. I’m thinking I’m sure I’ve heard the very same thing from the Libs.

Anyway the news turns to the Middle East and the court decision from the International Court of Justice which says there is a good chance that Israel is carrying out a genocide on the people of Gaza. A genocide wow, isn’t that what the Nazis did to the Jews, tried to wipe them all out? Unreal.

The next day after the court decision USA, UK, AUSTRALIA, CANADA, GERMANY and a few others cancel funding to UNRWA (The United Nations Relief and Works Agency), so basically cutting off all relief to the victims of a possible genocide in Gaza. These countries are all led by the USA who are also funding and arming Israel to carry out these acts of genocide.

Over 30,000 dead Palestinians, 70% women and children in just over 3 months.

Then on the news comes the economic situation with Jim Chalmers. He says China is our biggest trading partner and that Australia will benefit greatly by our trade and business with China.

Now I’m starting to scratch my head. So let’s get this straight, we have a deep and unconditional friendship and ties with a nation (USA) that’s supplying weapons and money to Israel to carry out a genocide on a whole race of people in Gaza but China’s just our trading partner?

Shouldn’t it be the other way round? Shouldn’t we be close allies with China? A country that doesn’t wage war on other sovereign countries and doesn’t support genocide, a country that holds out its hand in friendship as opposed to the USA that holds one hand out and in the other has a gun.

Shouldn’t we Aussies be a bit wiser on who we pick as our besties?

Well I’m going out the back for a beer now and ponder on this.
