British imperialism is the largest landholder in Australia and has the second largest amount of foreign direct investments. The British queen is the head of state, so the nation and the states have governors who exercise her power, always as it is said on the advice of the government of the day. Professor Jenny Hocking has researched and described the machinations and background treachery of British royalty in regard to the 1975 coup against the ALP government of Gough Whitlam.

There are other powerful formal and informal structures that tie us to British imperialism. The Institute of Public Affairs (IPA) is one of these. Historically it has been a supporter of British and U.S. imperialism rule in Australia.. The IPA drew its chairmen from big business in Australia. One of whom was Keith Murdoch, father of U.S. citizen Rupert Murdoch, who owns News Corp. It has interlocking ties with the vanguard of imperialism in Australia-the Liberal Party of Australia.

As many Australians, consider the values of January 26th, more and more people are turning their backs on the “celebrations” and just enjoy a day off work. The LNP government in Canberra and its ideology marketeers seek to whip up enthusiasm by lavishing huge sums of taxpayers money on advertising; spending over $34 million in 2021 via the National Australia Day Council.
